Underground Bunker I

Temptation after visiting the smaller bunker was growing. We knew there is a second one close, but nobody knew exactly where the entrance is. We had an approximate map, short description and strong will. We gathered at 20:00 on Monday evening and headed towards Javor. After a short ride we passed turning for the second bunker and knew we are near. We were driving slowly. Suddenly we've seen it - a solitary pine tree growing in the middle of meadow. We parked the car 100 m up the road in 15 cm of fresh snow. We've tightened our shoes and put on head lights.

First we crossed a creek and headed W towards the pine tree where we turned left and started ascent. We were just following side road, which was probably used for construction. After several hundreds meters we came to a scarp and thought we've already found the entrance, but it turned out we were wrong. We continued up the road which ended after next 100 meters. We split - two of us went to the top of the hill and the rest returned to the scarp. After short searching we managed to find an entrance 100 m NW from the scarp. We entered the bunker.

The entrance is designed in the same way and also corridors are similar. This one is longer and has more rooms, some even have wooden floors and are isolated. At the far end there is an exit with a wonderful view at Javor village. It turned out that the exit is just several meters below the end of the road where we split. Even after standing on the road and knowing where the exit is we were not sure.

There were also some cave formations and cave animals like bats.

Unfortunately this time we found much more garbage from beer cans, blankets, soft air pellets, blank cartridges, broken CDs to graffiti. It seems people use it for parties and fun. Our favorite is therefore the smaller one.

Google Earth KML file with exact locations and short description of how to find the bunkers is available here. If you have some interesting information about the bunkers or any other similar places please let me know.
